Mr. Arango is a production engineer, information systems specialist and expert in international business. He is director of the United Nations Cleaner Production Center (CPC) based in Medellin, Colombia. During his professional experience, Mr. Arango has acquired extensive knowledge on issues of cleaner production, environmental technologies, corporate sustainable development, environmental management, instruments of marketing and promotion of cleaner production, green business, climate protection and economic instruments, among others.
Mr. Arango has served in leadership positions in several companies including CELSA SA, Center for Science and Technology of Antioquia and Proantioquia Foundation. He has served as CEO of the National Cleaner Production Center since its founding in 1998, strategically directing all processes and projects of the Center throughout its trajectory, both nationally and internationally.
Mr. Arango is an advisor to international organizations, such as the United Nations Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), EMPA Research Institute, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), among others, establishing long-term cooperation contacts.
